Pandas with Matplotlib - How to Create an Animated Scatter Diagram in Python

10-August-2020
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then moving pictures can show even more. In this video, we’ll use some techniques with Pandas and Matplotlib to create a scatter plot that changes with time. This allows a viewer to identify time-based trends, as well as scale comparisons between data points, which is useful for high-level discovery. Animated visualizations are a nice tool for your analytics toolkit. Many thanks to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control for today’s dataset, which can be found here: https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/publications-data/download-todays-data-geographic-distribution-covid-19-cases-worldwide Also note that population figures are provided by the World Bank.
